External Funding

The Institute secured a total budget of 13.8 M€ in 2017, the largest budget ever achieved for the ICMAB. This increase is mainly associated to the increase of the competitive contribution, which was of 64 %, also the highest value ever achieved.

The total budget associated to the ongoing EU projects amounted 25.5 M€, and in 2017, 31 % of the total budget (4.2 M€) were of EU origin. A 22 % of the total budget came from national projects (MINEICO) and a 36 % from the CSIC. The main CSIC contribution is for personnel expenses (~ 90 %).

The rest of the budget came from the Generalitat de Catalunya (1 %) and from contracts with the Industry (1 %) and from different PhD or postdoc fellowships (8 %).
